The complaints officer for the legal profession at KienhuisHoving is dr. F.J. (Frans Jozef) van der Vaart, LL.M.

The details of our Complaints Procedure can be found in the Regulations for Complaints Procedure for the Legal Profession: Reglement Klachtenregeling Advocatuur (in Dutch).

If you feel our approach has not led to a satisfactory result, you can submit a complaint to the Disputes Committee for the Legal Profession (Geschillencommissie Advocatuur) (hereinafter referred to as: the Disputes Committee) of which our organization is a member, up to 12 months after a written response from our organization.

Our organization commits itself in such cases to cooperate with the proceedings before the Disputes Committee and to accept the Disputes Committee’s verdict as binding. This verdict will also be binding for you in the form of an arbitral award (business clients) or in the form of a binding opinion (private clients). It is not possible to appeal against the Disputes Committee’s verdict.

If you submit a complaint to the Disputes Committee this means that our organization will also have the right to submit a disputed invoice to the Disputes Committee, which in such an event will give a binding decision.

The Disputes Committee is also authorized to determine the damages, up to a maximum amount of € 10,000.-.
